  1. That was fun to watch, with the added bonus of seeing clips from tonight’s show. I must admit though, my favorite part was the Seinfeld clip and Tim’s effortless impression of Jerry Seinfeld. I’d love to see Tim in a TV comedy again.

      1. Do you know if it’s true that Tim read for the role of Mike Heck, the father on The Middle? I can’t remember where I read that, but Tim would’ve been absolutely perfect in that role! If true, I’m glad he didn’t get it because he couldn’t have done White Collar, but now when I watch The Middle, which is one of my favorite sitcoms, I picture Tim as Mike (although Neil Flynn is great in that role).

I still wish Tim could do a guest spot on Veep, pair him up again with Julia Louis-Dreyfuss. They worked well together on Seinfeld and on New Adventures of Old Christine.

        1. I have no idea. I’ve never heard this before. I’m glad he picked White Collar though. 😉
But it’d be fun to see him on a comedy show for a bit.

        2. That is true about The Middle. It was right around the same time as White Collar casting, IIRC. I’m glad things went the way they did, though. I absolutely love Tim as Peter and couldn’t picture anyone else in the role, and the same goes for Neil Flynn as Mike Heck. While I think Tim would have made a decent Mike, Neil has that whole ‘droll dad’ thing down to a science.

          1. One bad thing about Tim not getting The Middle is that The Middle is still going strong, having just been renewed for a season 8. I would love to watch Tim on eight seasons of practically anything.

But you’re right. These things usually work out the way they’re supposed to and I wouldn’t trade Tim as Peter Burke for any other role in TV land.
